Community was fundamental to early Christians and to the development of the early church, so it is at Port Nelson. A strong sense of community permeates Port Nelson.
Caring Wisdom Circle
An open gathering of caring people sharing their life journey and learning from one another. We are guided by inspirational readings that challenge and support our spiritual growth. Drop in and receive a warm welcome, be inspired and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
A full buffet-style breakfast is prepared and served with a guest speaker following the meal. The breakfast is coordinated by Men in Aprons. All are welcome to attend.
Couples Mixed Bridge
Offers an enjoyable way to play your favourite game with another couple through the fall, winter and spring months.
A gathering of women for support, friendship and service. The group hosts the Women’s Dessert and Candlelight Communion evening each December.
Ladies’ Bridge Group
A friendly, fun afternoon of bridge enjoyed no matter the level of expertise. We play six games between October and April. Each team hosts three games.
Men in Aprons
A group of men who love to cook and create out of the ordinary lunches for themselves and occasional guests. The group helps from time to time with church activities when food preparation is required.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
For those who crochet or knit. As the shawls are made, the group prays that those receiving them will feel the care, prayers and love of God aided by the loving hands that prepare them. Yarn may be provided if needed. Prayer shawls are given to anyone who could use a warm hug. If you are aware of a need please contact us; arrangements can be made to deliver shawls.
A catered, home-cooked style meal is provided and enjoyed, followed by a speaker on topics of interest to seniors. Bring a friend. Cost is approximately $18.
A social time to enjoy cooking, eating and cleaning up a hot meal. Bring a friend. Cost is approximately $20 to $30.
The church library is located just past the offices on the parking lot entrance level. Drop in to browse for books to borrow.
